To help our students learn how to stay safe during emergencies, our school conducted a **Fire Extinguisher Drill** today. The aim was to teach children about fire safety and show them how fire extinguishers are used in a safe and simple way.
**What Happened in the Drill:**
1. **Introduction to Fire Safety:**
– Teachers explained what to do if they ever see fire or smoke.
2. **What is a Fire Extinguisher?**
– A real fire extinguisher was shown.
– Teachers explained that only adults should use it, and only if it’s safe.
3. **The PASS Technique:**
– Students were taught the simple steps of using an extinguisher:
– **P** – Pull the pin.
– **A** – Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
– **S** – Squeeze the handle.
– **S** – Sweep side to side.
4. **Demonstration:**
– A trained adult showed how to use the extinguisher on a small, controlled fire.
– Students watched from a safe distance.
5. **Safety Reminders:**
– Never play with fire.
– Tell a teacher or adult if you smell smoke or see fire.
– Know where the exits are.
– Always listen to instructions during emergencies.
The children were very attentive and asked great questions. The drill helped make them more aware and prepared in case of an emergency. Safety is our top priority, and we’re proud of how well our students participated.
